Hi!
I'm Mandie, I'm 27, and have been married to my husband, Gabe, for 3 years now. I am from the midwest originally, but moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when we married. Before we married, though, I wanted a little adventure in my life, and so I moved to San Antonio, Texas for almost a year to participate in an internship program through the Assemblies of God church called Master's Commission. We studied the Bible, ministered in churches, and helped out wherever we were needed. It was a time of definite growing in my life. After I returned home to Muskegon, Michigan, I attended school, but knew that I still wasn't ready to just settle down. I needed a little more excitement in my life, so shortly after turning 21, I decided to become a nanny for a family with six children and one mom on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I also did this for almost a year, and it was amazing. It was definitely hard work, but it was also an awesome experience. I got to see another part of the country that I fell in love with, and dream of returning to one day. I got to pray with and encourage sweet children that didn't know about Jesus. I got a good dose of birth control, too! When I returned to Michigan, I started taking college classes for nursing, and then got engaged to my sweetheart that lived WAY far away from me(that's a WHOLE other story, though). I became distracted, though, between planning a wedding, working 2 jobs, and planning on moving across the country, though, so I quit school and have not been back since. I now work for a healthcare company in the accounts payable department, and though it can be boring at times, I am so grateful for the people I have met, and the opportunities I've been given. In my spare time, I enjoy blogging(surprise!), reading, crafting, watching way too much tv, shopping, traveling, sleeping, crazy and delicate earrings, my iPod shuffle whom I have lovingly named HD2(hippity dippity the second), I LOVE taking pictures, even though they only turn out cool occassionally, Orbit bubblemint gum(lots of it, too!), drinking LOTS of coffee, snuggling with my friend's babies, spending time with said baby's mommas, and spending time with my G, for he truly is my best friend, and favorite person to be with. Oh yeah, I love breakfast, too. Preferably at Morning Star in Grand Haven, Michigan with my best girls. The cranberry oatcakes are my favorite!
